Impedance question: McIntosh MC60's and ZU Audio DW II's

I've found I prefer my Zu Omen DW II on the 16 ohm taps of my McIntosh MC2125 as well as the 16 ohm tap on my Dynaco ST70. Actually sounds smoother to me. The Zus paired with some of my other 8 ohm amps (vintage Sansui, Pioneer) sound way too strident/harsh. I find these speakers to be extremely source dependent, which is both good and bad.

That's one hell of a bedroom system, I struggle to imagine what you've got as a main system!
Thanks! I actually have my best equipment in that bedroom system. The den system on the first floor has a bigger TV so it is more of a video room. I have kept my Spica TC-50's for over 34 years and run them in that room. Still love them, there is just something about how well they image and get out of the way of the music. Deep bass lacks in them but a subwoofer helps out with that. That room also has rear channels for ambiance; run through a Pioneer Elite SP-91D Dolby-Pro processor. That decoder is not hooked up to the front speakers as I'm not a fan of center channels and, so that it won't affect the fidelity of the front speakers. I think my Marantz 7 in the upstairs system sounds better than the CJ PV-8 downstairs (even though I love that preamp, too). I guess I could have a really killer system if I concentrated on only one room but I really love having multiple systems so that I'm not confined to one room. Plus, I have a hard time letting my older components go. They just move to another room. I'm single so I can get away with that.

I’m using my DW Omen with a Mitsubishi DA-P20 preamp, DA-A15DC amp. They’re wonderfully smooth. The top end has been lacking since the Jupiter cap upgrade.

While not used in a Mac amp, I found the same thing, only a complete lack of detail,
in my extremely high end SET 300b amp. I had the builder
put back in the Mundorf blacks. For X-overs the oil caps are great, Not so much in tube Amps.
Every amp is different .

Somehow this seems backwards. Did you find the DWs overly bright before? You've got me confused.
