A pair of young ladies in my daughter's class in high school decided to do a class project by submitting a "petition" asking our state legislature to approve funding for studying the negative effects of exposure to dihydrogen monoxide. They were able to get hundreds of signatures. The academic class? Science? Nope. Government? Nope. Psychology? Yep. Study of gullibility.
