If you have owned any of these amps and have used Winged C's and RFT Siemens in them, I'd like to know which ones "you" liked the best.

Hmmm i tried the winged C in my model 9's at your recomendation and ran them for a year or so and liked them a lot but then went back to my mullard dual halos which are my favorites. i bought 10 NOS RFT's years ago as i heard they were close to the mullards in sound but i have never tried them. I bought them as back up not really to roll but i have about 16 dual getter and the same of single getter mullards as back up already so i doubt i will live long enough to go through those. i was keeping them NOS in case i wanted to sell but i am having back surgery this June and will be laid up at home for a couple of months so maybe i will try them out then to give me something to do.

Thanks for your response, I was hoping 'you' would catch my thread.

I've had my 9's for 10 yrs now, have used the =C='s for the entire time... still fond of them. Had one go out on me last week, no harm/no foul. I have a few spares so I was back in action right away. Just got me thinking of 'maybe' trying out a different brand. These and the Siemens seem to be the most highly recommended. Now thinking of just staying with the C's.

Curious... do you have a fave between all your Marantz's?
also... ever experiment with new Gold Lion KT77 or E90F meshes?

Good luck with your back surgery!

Well my Fave will always be my 2245 it was my first, i got it in 1974 and its been with me over 50 years other than that probably my model 9's i dont think sound wise they are better than the 8B but they put out 85wpc and i can blast my Ohm 4 speakers with them if i really want to bring the roof down plus the Triode mode is a nice chenge every now and then

I ran mine with mesh E90f's and enjoyed them. Also the fat EL34's seemed to punch nice in the unit but maybe not as good as other EL34's for the classic 8b sound.
decided to part with some time ago so still have some NOS spare E90f's and fat EL34's around and need to let em go sometime.
