Local electronics recycler has a pair of S85s and an S85C for sale. At least one grille might be missing. M&K has a great reputation, but several searches haven't turned up too much info on the S85s.

I had a set of four S-85's (and the 85C center) along with an M&K V-125 sub- not the final word in musicality but pretty good. Just a tad bit "analytical" and cold for my taste, but very accurate. Whether they are worth it or not though all depends on the price they are asking.
BTW if you can find them M&K made a pair of matching column stands for the S-85s called the LDM-125 (Loudspeaker Docking Module.) The S-85s bolted to them via a mounting bracket in the back (that's what the bolt holes on the back of the S-85s are for.) They were also able to be sand-filled. I had a pair of those for my front S-85s and they REALLY helped with the sound definition IMO.

I own or have owned many of the S series M&K sats. I love them. So, as posted by others, it depends how much they are asking and how you intend to use them and integrate them with your electronics and you decor.

They're asking $150, but knowing this outfit, that's very negotiable. If I picked them up, they'd replace the Klipsch THX satellites in the front of my HT system.

I think 150 for the set of 3 is very reasonable. If you can get him down more, all the better. You will have no trouble selling them if they dont work for your situation. Give them a listen!
