My A-700 sounds better than my CA-2010!

Well, you know, I do be believe in the "less components in the sound path the better" philosophy.

The CA-2010 has a preamp section that is never bypassed, as I understand it. The A-700 has a "direct" mode that bypassed the preamp. I suspect this may be the difference.

My best sounding DAC, the Lampizator, takes the output of a 32 bit DAC chip, fires it into a vacuum tube, and right out the output, with only one or two capacitors in the signal path. The sound of this DAC smokes anything else I've heard.

Are you suggesting that I buy an Adcom GFA-555 instead?? :)

Get a M-2 or a PC2002M and don't look back.

Sometimes lowered power amps sound better than their testosterone brothers.
In my opinion my Adcom 535 sound better than any other Adcom amp I have tried.
Of course there is often low end tradeoff.

I think the Yamaha M4 sounds slightly better than the M2 or M80.

Look at the interest in SET amps these days, those 3 watts sound wonderful.
Not they will work with your NS1000 speakers

I too am into NS1000 speakers so I really appreciate your experiences and insights. I hope to recap my old Divas some day. You have inspired me.
