Odyssey Amp thread

I also have the Odyssey Khartago Stereo Extreme that Klaus added some additional "hot rodding" to when he built it for me. It has run flawlessly for me for 4 years now. Not much I can add here that hasn't been mentioned previously except that I can verify that it has effortlessly driven some very hard to drive speakers that I have had in my stable. Another satisfied customer and my Khartago is still doing duty as my primary amp. Oh, and I also just happen to live very close to the same city as Odyssey Audio.

Klaus will tell you that Odyssey amps LOVE tube preamps! I have the Candela because, well, tubes, and because it's a perfect match for the Khartago. Haven't done any tube rolling yet, just because the stock JJs are really good.

All I know is my Khartago works really well with my Sonic Euphoria PLC and Aerial Acoustics Model 7s.

And yes, it can get pretty LOUD with no fuss or muss.

I don't even think about upgrading anymore. The Candela/Khartago combo is perfect for my simple needs, and my vinyl has never sounded better.

As @JohnnieO will tell you, I'll recommend Odyssey to anyone who's looking for a 'better than Best Buy' power amp, and isn't afraid to pay a little more.

I have family near Klaus's company, and I fully intended to save up and buy an amp one day. It may still happen, but I have jumped into the Chinese class D desktop scene. If I sell off some of my idle gear I might get something with the Odyssey brand.

I picked up a Odyssey Stratos dual mono blocks in one case from a friend and the pre I am using is a Counterpoint Solid 8 with a set of Dynaudios kit from Madisound. I could not believe the difference in sound from my Carver setup.
