Opinions on Cerwin Vega dx 7's?

There seems to be a lot of info on every other model they made , but not much at all on these? Just looking for anyone's personal experience with the dx 7's. I am a fan of the company and already own a few pairs of them myself. Currently a pristine pair of d 3's of which are my favorite, a pair of vs 120's and a pair of d 5's waiting for a refoam. Not talking value necessarily at this point, let's just say I can get them for a really low price which includes a Jvc avr reciever , a nice Denon middle of the line tt an a random CD player. So I know the value is certainly worth the price of admission and the speakers are in excellent shape, short of course needing new surrounds. So.... Wanting the good, bad, and ugly on these and if if anybody has done any improvements ( if they were needed) like bracing, positioning , etc??? I'm clueless on the dx series just looking for some input. Thanks in advance everyone!

I haven't heard them but they get good reviews.I think most upper end D and DX series are pretty good for what they are.I like the D5s andD9s.I found that there is not a whole lot of info current.I had to search archival net info for the most info.

Thanks for responding Superdog! Yes info does seem scarce, an none of it was really specific. I was hoping the same with it being 2nd from the top in the series it's going to have some better qualities. I definetly prefer the "D" series above any that I have encountered an read that the dx series is a step down in build quality. Regardless I do believe they are hefty cabinets with quality components. Just not sure if they're sound is comparable to any of the others or not. I've been following your other thread on the D9's an those are the ones I truly hope to get someday. The "At" series are the only ones I've never heard, so can't comment on those.

The only thing I don't like about them is on the cabinets front sides the angle cut it can be problematic with veneers including vinyl other than that they are an excellent speaker and I would not pass up a set of them ever if the price was right.

So you going to get them?Vintage gear is rising in value.I assume one can always get their money back if the get it at a good price and more than likely make some.I don't see big CVs around my area.I have a set of 317p Hardrockers I found in a thrift store over ten years ago.Have never seen another pair of CVs since and this store has put out a lot of audio since. My two sets of D9s I had to travel 300 miles round trip for them.Just saying if their close and cheap I'd snag them.

On my way home with them now!!!:banana::banana:
They are in amazing shape! Of course the surrounds are shot which is no big deal, and part of a seam of the bottom of the cabinet needs a little repairing but that's it! No water damage or peeling vinyl veneer, grills and all drivers working! Pictures soon to come once I get them home and set up and after dinner with the family! I am stoked! All told they were not as close as I thought, but I left early this morning to go get them. About 2 1/2 hour round-trip but so worth it. $30 for a tank of gas and $125 admission fee ! My wife was not the happiest when I told her late last night I was going to pick them up on Easter Sunday LOL but I told her I would be back early. Altogether I got the DX seven's, A JVC rx 807v reciever ( which looks pretty hefty inside btw ), a Jvc xl151 CD player, and a very clean Denon dp23f tt with a Stanton l727e cart d73e stylus in great shape!!!
I can't wait to get these refoamed up an rockin!!!!

Those PD9'S are rare ... especially with the Hickory Woodgrain Vinyl veneer !.... Military Offering Only and those are for keeps
Haven't seen the DX 7's in my area either. I did pick up some D 9's a few years ago and did a resto on these last year. They will be going into my gun room soon.

Don't you just love the feeling of a nice scroe? That ear to ear grin all the way home! I'm sure you are going to like the DX 7's, as stated earilier, the D and DX line is very good stuff in CV world. Congrats!!

Couple quick pics! Just got them inside! Forgot to mention , it also came with an interesting Optimus pro cs 5ii center channel. I think it has some form of ribbon tweeter??? Haven't looked it up yet.

Last set I saw on CL here was listed for $500 and were gone within a day.
Don't know if you've seen these, or how well they'll come through...20180401_152605.jpg 20180401_152626.jpg 20180401_152647.jpg
