Pioneer PL-71 tone arm elevator popped out of socket

Hello everyone,

Went to go use my turntable this afternoon and noticed the tone arm elevator (piece controlled by the lever) was popped out of the socket and I can't seem to get it to take back in (or snap it in). The bronze piece in the socket does still move up and down but does not come out of the socket. Does anyone know the cause of this and a potential fix?

I can't tell in your case and the service manual doesn't show details of that area but often these are held in place by a circlip from underneath. It might have come off and is now inside the base.
