Pioneer PL12-D no sound right channel

Hi,

So I bought a this turntable and a pioneer sx-300 receiver.
On my receiver the left channel was dead. After I replaced a blown fuse it was fixed. The receiver works well.

I installed a AT 95E cartridge on the PL12-D. And yes, sound! Only on the left channel :-(. Right channel is dead. I don't know if the channel was dead before I installed the AT95E, because it's the first time I'm using the turntable.

Any tips?

Do you have another turntable that you know has both channels working? If you do, plug it into the receiver. If there's still no right channel, the problem's in the receiver. Otherwise, the table.

Or, do you have another receiver with a phono input (or a friend with one)? Can you hook the table up to that and test it out? Similar logic as above.

I'm sure you wee already aware of that, but I'm only good for the superficial troubleshooting.

Okay, I swapped the rca plugs on the back of the receiver, and still the right channel is dead. So for sure the receiver. Something with the phono preamp? Or can I give it a shot with deoxit all switches, knobs, etc.

Try the DeOxit on all the pots and switches. Get some pipe cleaners and "ream" the RCA's with the pipe cleaner and DeOxit. Rule out dirty contacts, switches and pots 1st. Easiest to do and almost always gets good results.
