Pioneer Spec 1 headphone jack not working

I plugged my Sennhieser HD600s into the headphone jack of my Spec 1
today and Im getting no output through it. Am I missing something here.?
Everything else works fine as usual. I did notice that the Speaker Selector doesn't turn off the speakers even in the off position but I think thats related to me running the Speakers straight from the amp.

My rack hasn't seen much use in months. Before I start troubleshooting this
has anyone had this problem and what should I be looking for to repair it if it becomes a resistor replacement ?

Edit : I should note the headphone jacks on my RTR and Cassette units are working fine.

The Spec 1 Requires that you run your power amp back through it in order for the headphones to work. :)

There are more intelligent people to explain it, but basically, the Spec 1 does not have a separate headphone amplifier, so it can't work unless your power amplifier is running it.

Thank you for pointing that out to me, I will give that a try, now that you mentioned it I feel dumb for missing that. Simple is good though.

Thanks again!

Do not feel bad about asking this question. You are not the first and I am sure not the last to ask this question.

The Spec-1 is a nice pre-amp.

I am having the same issue and the power amp is hooked up. I have it apart and the jack itself is fine, wires are fine. I am not sure how to troubleshoot the circuit? Can anyone point me in the right direction on where to look and what to test?

are the speakers working through the spec-1? SpeakerS. as in left and right channels.

The left channel minus is the common ground for both headphone channels.

and uncommon as it may be, check to make sure that the minus side of the amplifier output is a ground and is the same ground for both channels.
no bridging for this.

The rest of it.. it's all point to point wiring for it in there.
