Post your Sunset & Sunrise pictures

There is just so much wrong about this picture, but here it is anyway.

Wrong lens (Tamron 17-28mm), had my high megapixel camera body on a macro setup, so I went with what I had available, my A7 II. I just happened to glance out the window and noticed the sunset looked nice. Had to grab what I could and get the shot as there wasn't time to prepare. Couldn't use a long zoom as it was dark enough that there wasn't enough light for hand held, and I can't crank up the ISO on the A7 II too much as noise becomes an issue.

But, I can live with this I suppose.

Seems like it's time to start preparing for sunsets again. It was uncharacteristically warm today, around 50F. You don't see that too often in Lower Wisconsin in February.

Did you use your astronomy setup for this? That's a nice shot.

I've thought about trying it. I'm set up for it already for the most part. I have astronomy stacking software installed and ready to go. I definitely won't be at an elevation where I'm going to be above clouds, however.

Just a camera on a tripod and one shot. No stacking or tracking.
Did use Lightroom to enhance it a bit.
Helps being up in elevation with no light pollution.

That's more along the lines of what I'll be doing. I'm a whopping 7 floors up, but it gets me above the ground clutter and a clear view of the sky - although only from one side of the building, of course.

I haven't really researched the process at this point. I don't have anything for tracking, so it might be the approach you have for now where there's no stacking involved.

And... from the top of Haleakalā volcano on Maui.
One shot, processed in Lightroom.
