Receivers stylistically similar to Technics SA-x00, Pioneer SX-10xx

Hey, in the market for a 70s-era receiver that puts out between 50 and 75 WPC. I love the look of receivers like the Technics SA-700. Specifically, I love the silver face, white backlight, wooden panels that are visible from the front, and VU meters.

I know that thw Pioneer SX line is similar, but are there others I should be looking into?

Take a look at he Realistic receivers from the late 70's and early 80's. STA-2000, 2100 or 2080 have the look and are very good receivers. I own and STA-2000 and an STA-740 and I swear the 740 is a Technics with a few cosmetic changes. The 2000 is a classic beast.

HH Scott had a line of receivers with white background like one series of the Technics(es) -- if that's what floats the OP's boat.

Not terribly common but better than average.

Setton? ;)

or, the cosmetically slightly less elegant, but internally identical receivers sold by Lafayette under their own name -- these aren't all that common, but are much cheaper than the Settons. :)

The LR5555(A) and the RS440 above are the same receiver inside, by all accounts.

Of course, there also was a line of 'silver-faced' Marantzes, too :)

Woah, you all came through big! These are all great suggestions. I would never have thought to explore Nikko or Setton. I'll get to researching.

And yes, the Hitatchis, Toshibas, Yamahas, and Lafayettes that were mentioned are all real lookers (by my tastes, at least). My only gripe with the Scott and Hitatchi, though, is that the wooden chassis doesn't come all the way to the front of the unit. Still pretty all the same, though.

Regarding the Realistics: I'm one step ahead of you! There's actually an STA-2000 on my local CL for a fair price, but I've had a hard time communicating with the buyer, so we'll see.
