SSD Files Scrambled In Node

Ripped all my CD's to a Samsung T7. When plugged in to my Node, The files of 1 artist, (approximately a dozen albums) divide in to 3 separate locations: 3albums in the artist folder, 2 outside the folder and the rest listed in "unknown" where I have around 10 songs listed as "1" then 2 etc.... I've tried loading the folders all within an Artist Folder and I've tried loading all folders individually, not in the Artist Folder. I get the same results no matter what. I've power cycled the Node every time I make a change. Anyone else have this struggle?

I suspect that by default, the NODE will organise its local library according to file tags.
If I'm right, your directory structure will be completely irrelevant.
Bottom line: check your tags. Having healthy tags is good practice, in any case.

Try updating all the Metadata (tags) using an app like MusicBrainz Picard or MP3tag. But you need understand what fields your node is using to sort and organize the library, and if there are options you can configure.

True, but the main fields are artist, album, track number, title.
I also prefer to include the year tag, and I define this as being the year of first release - not the year of particular LP or CD release, nor the year of remaster.

@forceof1 I will guess that your ripped files have mostly empty tag fields, and your next problem is to go through and fix these tags? This will be a tedious and time consuming process. But there are some batch editing functions built into tagging applications which can automate this process.
For example, with MP3tag you can specify "parent" folder-names as album and artist, then batch edit with these parameters -
Converters to rename files or to import tags
You can also specify parts of the existing filename as track number/title.

Just a heads up - for future CD ripping, I suggest you get your tags in order at the time of the rip. All decent CD ripping applications have provision for this.

I have a lot of experience ripping CDs in Bluesound (over 6000 CDs). The issue is indeed the tags - using MP3tag or similar software, verify that the tracks all list exactly the same album title, and that the artist and album artist match in each file and across files. It's a bit tedious to fix the tags, but not difficult.

I’d clean up the tags in Picard or MP3tag, then double‑check the folder names too, since mismatched spellings can confuse some players. For batch folder cleanup, I’ve used https://renamer.io to quickly bring a whole artist’s directory into a consistent naming pattern, which makes it easier to spot odd files that still need metadata fixes. After that, the Node usually sorts everything the right way again.
