Tekton Owners Thread

I've got Lores and Perfect Set 12s. I ordered both through their website. I never spoke to anyone, but the speakers came on time and were exactly as ordered. The packing is phenomenal btw. The owner is Eric Alexander. I think if you really want some reassurance, you can probably call and talk to their accounting department. I think they are pretty responsive.

How do you find the Lore and SET to sound vs each other?

Hard to compare since they're in different rooms with different amps. If I had to say, I think the Set 12's have a fuller sound. Obviously, the 12 inch woofer helps. I've got a subwoofer with the Lore's since they're in my office and I listen at much lower levels. I drive both with mostly tube amps. The Set 12's are using a KT 150 amp, a KT 170 amp and a 300B amp. It's also hooked up to a Pioneer SX-950 and they all sound quite good. The Lore's are using a 2A3 amp that's probably my favorite. Being in my office I listen to that setup the most.

Those both sound like great setups.

I've got a pair of the first version of Pendragons. Right now they're hooked up to my AVR for home theater, and I've done some stereo listening too. I'm very pleased. Soon I'll put a 300B SET on them. Can't wait for that!

Are your Pendragons the 2, 4, or 8 ohm versions?

Having assumed that moving my Moab's (along with all my other household goods) across the country on my own after retirement, I sold them and replaced them with an interim pair of Martin Logan Montis' since I'd dabbled with ML some 30 years ago when I had a pair of Aerius i's (much lighter and easier to move) . I'd thought that these $10k ES speakers would suffice, possibly through the duration.
Oh, how wrong I was. They were no comparison in SOOO many ways to the Moab's. Not even to my $850 pair of Excites I have in my HT system. So I sold the Montis' and spoke with Eric about doing a modified Pendragon for me with a single Moab MTM array with a Be HF unit. He put together a great package for me with all the bells and whistles in a Valspar Sultana {Plum}. Should be here win the next few weeks. I expect they will be great, as it has been with everything I've done with Tekton.

Grumpy, bad day… I don’t know him, I don’t want to assume character traits or call him names. And if he was a control freak, he’d probably want to also be in control of the financial aspect of every deal to avoid reputational and financial risk.

Anyway, my intention is not to badmouth anyone. I’m just a bit puzzled and express my discomfort with that part of the process so far. I wanted to understand if I should alarmed and worried.
So far it does not sound like anybody here was pulled over the table or did not get what they ordered. It seems like they’re passionate and smart about their products, but, depending on the day, they may just not be in the mood for paperwork, and as a lean operation they don’t hire someone to do it for them. Maybe.
Either way, I don’t feel super comfortable about it. It’s a bit weird, or at least an unusual way to do business. But hey… I hope the product will make up for my mild anxiety.
so, did they ever arrive?
