The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Good morning. It’s 26°F going to 53. It’s going to be a busy day.

I’m heading out to do some grocery shopping before the sun comes up and people crowd the stores.

I have to leave the house around 9 because my wife is meeting with a tax client and I’m not supposed to be privy to any of that, professional ethics and all, so this time of year I have to be silent in the basement or be gone.

Since i have to leave I’ll go to the Same Day Care and see what the say about my foot. It’s getting better, I think, but after 6 weeks I think it should be better than it is. It’s still sore and I get the occasional sharp pain the metatarsals? and pops in places I didn’t know I had places.

This afternoon is busy. I’ll shoot some pool with friends at 2 as is usual for a Thursday but leave early to attend a writing workshop at the art museum. I’ll hang around there after because there is an artist talk at 5:30. Between those I’ll take my time to look at the work that just went up for next month’s auction. I have two pieces of my own in there and did a walk thru at the opening last Friday but want to take my time as there were a few that I might be interested in acquiring.

Good Morning,

Warming trend continues. The long weekend is looking good.. might see mid 40's.

I had a nice visit with Larry yesterday, he's still on the long recovery from his stroke. He's lost so much weight that he needs a new prosthetic leg, the old one doesn't fit right anymore.
He's an amazing jazz piano player, but currently has no instrument. I need to find something for him to play...it would be really good therapy for his hands.

Not much on deck for today. Laundry and other domestic chores, for sure.
@BillyTheKid , you remember them? Maybe not, you're just a puppy yet, LOL
I'm aware of them now. But didn't covet one in 1965. I would have been 6 years old. I was coveting guitars in general, but wasn't aware of any specific models yet.

The new auger worked great.
Glad to hear that. Always a gross job. Home ownership, yay !

Here's a story:
I was talking to Peter on Tuesday. His son just bought his first house in Tolland, a community outside of Hartford that has been in the news for a rash of homes with crumbling foundations due to bad concrete mix.
Anyway, they were supposed to close on Monday...the house had a renter that moved out 2 weeks ago...after which the heat was shut off ! Seller claimed it was 'winterized'. ( We've had sub-zero temps here for that last few weeks). Fortunately they did an inspection prior to the closing and found that the toilets had cracked and the well pump has been slowly filling the basement with water. Nice ! Way to save a couple of bucks on heat !
Needless to say...the deal is off.
You can't fix stupid.

I hope you all enjoy your day,
Cheers.

UPDATE: The procedure was a complete success. The right coronary artery was blocked 100%, and it has been reopened with a stent. Dr. Patel said because she is so active and healthy her body had already created a bypass, and that's why all of her cardiogram tests came back negative. She was awake and watching the procedure on the same screen the Dr. was viewing and got up off the operating table on her own, she is spending one more night in the hospital for rest & observation ... I'll bring her home tomorrow so she can change the oil & filter in my trucks and rotate the tires.

She's being released from the hospital, I'll pick her up around 1:30 this afternoon.

Howdy folks, 18 F and sunny, cooler then it has been in the last two days.
That said, the weekend looks promising with weather above freezing.
Picking up Valentine's chocolates for Judy & a card today.
Oh yes, and a card for my neighbors wife across the street who I've lusted after for the past 40 years.
So much for the 10th Commandment.
Have a great day.

Good Morning Folks. It is 25f on the porch and foggy with scattered snow showers in today forecast. The plan today is a workout down in the basement and a drip to the dump. Currently the sun is peaking over our canyon walls and the fog is slowly sinking to the valley below. In stead of looking thru the fog, I've a great view of the top of the cloud.
Have good Thursday everyone and be safe.
Allan

Good morning! Mid to upper 50s for the walk with hazy overcast. Prediction is cloudy all day and possible rain tomorrow.

Today: order groceries for pickup tomorrow; routine cardiologist visit; big camera club "hit us with your best shot" (show and tell) this evening. I didn't submit anything, will see what others have done or dug out of their files.

Have a great day!

= "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor"

10th commandment = “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
I grew up Catholic, in that religion it's the 9th. I like yours too! :)

Good morning. It’s 26°F going to 58. Yesterday was busy. I saw a medical provider and had x-rays of my foot. No broken anything or stress fracture. Nothing torn loose. Just soft tissue damage that is going to take a while more. After that I did a long practice session on the guitar before a short session shooting pools with friends. Then I went to a writing workshop followed by an artist talk. Today is more laid back. Just the gym this morning. After that, nothing planned. The guys working on the floor of my other house are taking the next two days off to do another job. It’s looking pretty good so far.

Good morning, y'all! We have 64 and partly cloudy here today. We're going to see the doctor this AM because Sweetie Pie has water on her knee. I'm going with her to hear what he has to say about it. We'll stop at TJ's on the way home to replenish the house wine supply. Will go walking later. No other plans. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Good morning! Wide bands of rain moving up from the south, Sahuarita happened to be in one of the gaps for the walk. Upper 50s F and calm, streets with wet spots but sidewalks dry. Prediction last night was this will let up mid day or aftrnoon, then come back as scattered thunderstorms.

Yesterday the place that had all the dirt removed from the back had a concrete truck and pump in front. I'm guessing an in-ground pool going in.
Today: normal Friday, computer backup and grocery pickup.

Have a great day!

TMI:
Cardiologist yesterday: blood pressure good, EKG showed normal with one extra beat, but rate low at 48 bpm. He's taken me off the low dose of metoprolol, but to keep it on hand in case of AFIB, then one dose 30 minutes before flecainide. I'm going to keep an eye on things in case they are overly variable without the metoprolol, but try not to obsess with readings, as that in itself raises blood pressure.
