The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Good morning, y'all! We have 64 and 13 mph winds around noon, rain this evening and 8 of the next 9 days. The grand kids are coming over so grandma can show them how to make chocolate chip cookies for their dad's birthday on Tuesday. Nothing else going on that I know of yet. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Mornin,
After a week of garage Tetris and breaking down a 25 year old woodshop I’m getting closer. Let it rain for the next 4 days. I’m ready except for setting up an E-ZUP over the machines I’m moving along ASAP. I hurt all over, but grateful, counting my blessings and pretty much grinning like the village idiot. Today we’re going to our great niece’s surprise 30th birthday party in Temecula, so a much needed day off. Hope your day is relaxing too.
John

The wind is blowing this morning in the Wilds of Wyoming , in other words, just a normal day. We have precipitation forecasted in the coming week, but this year regardless of the forecast we stay high and dry! Maybe it's time to ditch the national weather service for my info, thought they have been the most reliable since my heavy fishing days

My goal today is simple , to drink more water. I'm always reluctant to stop whatever I'm doing to drink water. The distraction may change my directive , with 3 cats it's tough to stay on point. I'm easily distracted, I have of interests and have many interesting items in my home, think Adams family, lol. Also, being a high country boat fisherman much of my life here, you generally have to moderate how much you drink to stay hydrated, you can only carry so much water. I used to drink a lot of water in after I got home till I went to bed, that is no longer an option.

I've been thinking of buying a fishing boat this spring, at least 16' to be safe here. My first boat was a 17' Tuffy, with a 50 hp Mariner 2+2 , dropped 2 cylinders at low rpm. It was a great fishing boat , but not safe for family or Wyoming winds. Since I will be most like a fair weather fisherman, with 3 vertebrae out of place in my lower spine, the risk is too great to stay on the water in rough conditions. I feel at home on the water and miss it.

Be fearless in life but never forget that others are counting on you. I've got three cats, they count too so I have to stick around until they move on to greener pastures. I'm tougher than an old boot, and if my health issues of the past are any indication, nothing is going to stop me but old age. Have a great day and love is free to give, make someone's day better if you get the chance. A little love goes a long way, it's contagious. My love to you and yours, John

Temps still taking a break from "the big freeze" of a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday the city repaired a water main break that erupted early Saturday. This has become a yearly event after a big freeze. Meanwhile I'm recovering from a dose of the flu courtesy of a family event last Tuesday

Good morning all! Last night's dinner was excellent, elder grandson didn't join us, he was staying over at a friend's house. But we had the younger grandson to entertain us! He is a hoot. Still small for his age, but I don't think that's bothering him.

We have left-overs from last night, those will be our dinner tonight.

Take care and have a great day!

Good morning. It’s 33°F going to 63. I’m heading to the gym in a few minutes. I’ll run there today as my foot is feeling better. I’ll do weights and such and catch a ride home with my wife when she’s done with her swim.

With cold weather starting tomorrow, I’ll get the motorcycle out again today.

The flooring guys are supposed to put the finish on the floor at the other house today. They did the sealer yesterday. It’s quite aromatic. We had a neighbor come over looking to see is their was a gas leak. The house is closed up but it’s still strong outside.

Red flag warning till noon today here in the wilds of wyoming. High wind and low humidity , just another normal day. A ton of pop up ads assaulting me here this morning. How people think by pissing you off will get you to get involved with them is beyond me.A chance of precipitation every day except Tuesday night. how wierd.

Be lots of people out and about today , maybe a good day to mingle with the natives. Have a great presidents day. Been a while since we a great president, maybe they should cancel the holiday till further notice. Enjoy your life. john

Good morning! Sun shining through thin clouds, upper 50s F for the walk, going to lower 70s. Today: wash sheets; astronomy lecture tonight.

Have a great day!

TMI: Not feeling 100%, slight headache, not sure if it's IBS or heart. Will check BP and heart rate after breakfast.

Good Morning Folks. It is 30f on the porch, windy and patchy clouds. I'm getting conflicting weather forecast from the app's, one says snow and another says not. It's just a guess, the storm coming in from the Pacific is stalled over Cali and can't get over the Sierra Nevada mountain range. I've got a few easy chores around the cabin this morning along with a workout down in basement. This afternoon I've got an date with H&R Block for taxes.
Have a great Presidents Day.
Allan

Good morning. It’s 36°F going to 53 with wind. Tomorrow the temperature drops and we get some snow for a couple days but only a couple inches at most, so they say.

I put some dough dough on to rise over night and will bake that up later today. I’ll do a plain boule with half of it and turn the other half into a couple of onion/cheese ciabattas.

I’ll meet a friend for a 7 miles run this afternoon.

I’ve been invited to attend a meeting tonight regarding the funding for our contemporary art museum. The county did a massive cut to their budget and they lost 3 employees as a result. I think that the meeting is more political, seeking to change the minds of the county commissioners, rather than looking for more donations. I’m interested considering I have some work on show there and am on the Exhibitions and Collections committee, but not particularly interested in getting involved in the political piece due to some run ins I’ve already had with the “good ole boys” network, although it was with local law enforcement department. (No, it’s not what you might think). I’ll see how I feel after this afternoon’s run. My running partner is pretty involved with a few local groups attempting similar issues so I’ll see what he says.

Winds 45-50mph with gusts to 75mph this morning, really whooping it up in the wilds of Wyoming this morning. Tomorrow comes the precipitation with a little luck. It's dryer than a popcorn fart around here! Oddly enough, the western side of wyoming has a normal heavy snowpack in the mountains.

It grocery day for me, I was itching to go out yesterday but decided to be smart and stay home, less chance of being exposed to bad germs. I've had enough of troubles the last 6 months that I need to make better choices, time to build up some strength to make my home as beautiful as it deserves.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! john
