OK, so I'm at work verifying scans and decide to turn on the radio for a bit. It's set to a local soft rock station that's playing Christmas music and Johnny Mathis's "Sleigh Ride" comes on. Toe tapping good fun.

But them I get to thinking about how all the "good" Christmas music is the older stuff; Nat King Cole, Burl Ives, Der Bingle, Brenda Lee, and yeah, even McCartney and Lennon.

So being the aggravator I tend to be, I figured I'd start up another AK thread praising the virtues of the good old days and decrying the lack of any new Christmas classics.

What say ye? Who's got something new to spin after this...

Andy, have you ever listened to any of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas albums? They offer quite an interesting twist to some old Christmas classics. I'll be playing a couple over the holidays.

I have. My daughter has a couple. I'll see if there's one on her laptop.

Actually, I was just using holiday music to fan the flames of old fogeyism in a new topic here.

Must be bored....:D

BTW, Merry Christmas!!

A few years back I picked up the 2 Cd set "Now That's What I Call Christmas" and play it this time of year. I like CD 1 a lot more than CD 2. I'll bet most those songs on the second part of Disc 2 don't get played to much these days as I expect they were the flavors of the month back then....
