A dude relatively local selling a TT for "pick up only". Seems to be in fine condition though likely needs some lube/maintenance.
From the auction description:
Thorens TD126 MK III Turntable with cherry base and dust cover
SME Series 3 precision pickup arm s/n 34116
Shure V15 Type V cartridge

is $600 kinda steep?
He's like a 2 hour drive away and only wants cash to boot.

Yeah I think it is in good working condition. I can't really justify buying it right now at "fair" price though. If I can get it down to "great" price then maybe....
 
If it was a MK1, MK2 or MK4, yes, but the MK3, no.

The Thorens TD126 Mk3 did not deliver the same performance of the Mk1 and Mk2. The motor had a tachometer and corrected any variation in the speed of the platter, but in fact the corrections came always too late.

The arm and cartridge are OK, but you're buying a Turntable.
