What are some good MOSFET amps?

How can we forget these power amps :scratch2:

Hitachi MOSFET power amps has been listed :thmbsp:

But they did infact in 1979 also make a trio of integrated MOSFET amplifiers

Those look very nice and then there's also the Hitachi MOSFET integrated 70 Watts rms HA-6800.

Looks very nice with use of heat pipe cooling :thmbsp: ...,
a shame they did change the concept away from dual mono power supply :tears:

OCM 500, not an amp in my possession, nor have i heard it, but oh my oh my worth reviving this thread for.

The Hafler DH-200/220 are nice MOSFET amps and easier to find in the US/Canada. Not many in the UE, unfortunately.
One can even modify/improve them with tested kits.

But nothing's better when one DIY his own MOSFET amp: put one or two pairs of K1058/J162 per channel, a good (better dual) power supply with various and smaller caps in parallel per bank and the job is done.

Class A or AB, your choice.

DIY :thmbsp: 2SK1058's/2SJ162's...:thmbsp: Hitachi Lateral MOSFET's
Thats what I did.And they sound excellent. Makes close to 250 wpc.(8 ohm)
load tested at 247wpc before clipping into 8 ohm load @ 1khz

This thread got resurected and I read it for the first time. avionic, I hope the link you show here is still a good one. I can't get to anything accept .org, .mil and .gov sites right now.

I'm going to check it out when my tour is up in another week and a half. I'm very interested in that amp design but will have to find out if the Hitachi MOSFET's are still readily available.
