What are you listening to on your Sansui now?

I love this guy. Had the good fortune to see him twice last summer. Once with the Toy Factory Project at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and again with his band here in town. Third time is coming up this summer. Great player, singer and songwriter. Catch him when you can. Marcus King Live From The Bluebird Cafe. August 8, 2024, Nashville. American Recordings 2025. Record Store Day release. RSD releases can be hit or miss, especially live recordings. This one sounds great. Sansui AU-777 and SR-717.

Nice conversation, great to get so many enthusiastic music tips and indulge in some well placed envy!
My subject is my first Sansui: a 9090, back in action in the Kitchen system after years of shelf sitting with a malfunctioning driver board. Now resurrected with the new F-2436 PCB driver board that I populated (Affinity for Artifacts). The 9090 was previously restored but original transistors on the driver started failing. It's now sounding great again!
The other recent bonus is hooking up my antenna rotor that makes a big difference in locking in stations. I'm now getting signal strength between 4 and 5. :- )

Music: KCSM 91.1 Jazz - Dexter Gordon song: Silver Blue

Nice kitchen rig!

Sansui lineage - a boutique Masters integrated AU-G900X/Gcustom integrated SS amp hand built by our favorite Sansui engineer - Hirano San, RIP.

Playing Beck, Turn Away, off of the album Morning Phase via my bench CD Sansui player CD-V550R. ADS L-710, my favorite vintage speaker company. Smooth as silk tight as a drum.

Long Love Sansui!

What a cool little amp you've found there. Always digging deep into the Sansui, Jim. The highlight, however, is the mysterious image of our own @JimEGR shimmering in the sticky dome mid of the sultry L710s.

After a couple nights listening to the AR AU amp I’m back to the AU-777A. My wife appreciates this one has a headphone jack.

Jim

Did not expect new music ever again from this Scottish duo - Boards of Canada. Music that absolutely must be appreciated on our fine Sansui gear. This morning it was the limited indie vinyl on the SR-838 and this afternoon it’s the CD on the CD-a717D Extra.

Recently found this. Clean copy. It's in stereo. Sounds great. Oldie style vocals make me think of creepy movies. Les's playing is..well it's friggin Les Paul. Sansui 990, Nagaoka MP110, Paradigm Studio 60 V2.
