Watched a couple Utoob vids with some Java

Kevin from Skylabs did a vid on 9 pieces of HiFi gear that basically failed even though they were actually really great products. The Nak TX1000 Turntable was one of em!. It went for $8000.00 in the early 80s it would automatically adjust the sub platter to compensate for records with mis-centered holes.

Darko discussed the virtues of room treatment especially if a person is spending a multiple of 10s of thousands on a pair of speakers. I tend to agree if a person can afford to drop 30 to over 80 grand+ on speakers. They probably should be sure that their listening room is going to allow the system to function at its full capacity.

Now I'm enjoying some loungey tunes with more Java in my non-treated room except for the mess treatment :)
what are those speakers on the stands?
Edit: guess I should clarify I mean the ones in your room, not the ones in the video you are watching, lol

What I wonder is how this speaker wire/antenna trick got known and spread so widely back in the day? Seems everyone 45 and over knows it and it’s just news to me as of when yall explained it :)
Gotta bear in mind that our ONLY entertainment was the radio. Seriously massive record collections would have been unknown to most of us. I probably have more CDs sitting in front of me than people would have aspired to in years.

Now add AM music radio into the mix. Stereo? WTF is that?

Nice! The C-70 is working beautifully. Waiting for a draft report back so I got it set up in the entertainment center, demounted the WiiM Pro from inside the amplifier cabinet, unhooked everything from the soul speak line level/amp switcher, but left that mounted in there for if/when it needs to come off the bench when the c-70 gets serviced one day.

One thing right off the bat, the real sound shaping controls on the c-70 are really helping me get the best out of the tube amp and cabinets without using the digital EQ in WiiM app

Had to shift stuff around in the entertainment center, but it’s all set up and ready for when the YP-B2 comes home...plug and play.

In addition to wireless streaming I use the WiiM as a digital optical into the system for movies or music YouTube stuff thru the tubes too. And the headphone jack works! So I officially have headphones out here now too.

Man I hope I’m done moving gear around for a bit :rflmao:

You won’t see the wire rat nest when the TT is in, hopefully lol

Keeping the FOSI X5 as a backup for both setups.

They're Paradigm Model 9 from the early 80s there's not a lot of info on them that I have been able to dig up. I do know they were designed using the NRC anechoic chamber in Ottawa. Paradigm built their own chamber in 1988 they used for later models. I currently have them connected to a Panasonic AV Receiver with an internal DAC that I'm using for TV audioPXL_20260309_190503757.jpgPXL_20260309_190518039.jpg
