What is typical idle wall current for Eico ST70? I see 1.5A

I have an Eico ST70 that is drawing 1.55A from the wall (so says my Killawatt). That's 190 Watts idle at my 124VAC line, which seems high to me, but the amp seems to work fine and power transformer doesn't seem too hot. I did adjust the bias and balance. Does anyone know this measurement on their amp?

Fair number of tubes in there. Counting all the filaments and bias etc., That's probably not too terrible out of line.

With higher wall voltage could be bias is a bit high and that can contribute.

Agree, seems reasonable based on my experience with other integrated amps with similar tube lineup.

The SAM's file for the ST-70 says it is rated 150W so you're a little high but if you are running at 124V that could explain some of it. If you have never rebuilt the power supply the old caps could be drawing a bit of extra current. If you have a variac try lowing the line voltage to 117 or 120V and check the wattage at a little lower input voltage.
