What vintage gear are you playing?

Vintage Audio Gear

My Vintage list:

Philips CD960 cd player
Philips AH5782 Pre amp
Philips AH6731 Tuner
Philips AF877 turntable with Stanton L720 cartridge
The above items were all purchased new and in around 1982-90 - All have been trouble free with the only repair being a burnt out light on the pre-amp and new belts for the CD960 which was done finally after 20 years of use.
My most recent aquisition this year was a Philips N4520 reel to reel recorder which i Imported from Berlin - it is truly an awesome machine and is in absolute mint condition. I did have the matching Philips AH578 power amp which died on me 4 years ago and was replaced by a NAD 272 which quit on me after only 3 years - Im looking out for another AH5781 as I replaced the NAD with an Audio Source amp which is okay but I liked the matching Philips equipment . I have this equipment running through to a pair of Definitive Technoloy BP8080ST speakers.

My entire system is vintage.

4 Pioneer HPM-100's (only use the rears when cranking it)
Technics SH-8055 Stereo Graphic Equalizer
Pioneer SX-1080 Receiver
Technics SL-D303 Turntable with Shure V15-IV Cartridge and JICO Super Analog Stylus

I also have a Fisher 500-B Stereo Receiver hooked up to speakers that I couldn't care less about.

I have a ton of vintage pieces. But at the moment I'm using an old Realistic STA-95 to play some local college FM on a pair of those Sony bookies (the recent ones with the thin kevlar yellow 5 1/2" woofer)--much better than they "should" be allowed to sound!

Sitting in an opened box waiting for an audition on either an

HK 730 Twin power

or

Marantz 2265

A pair of Celestion DL-6s (looking forward to that this evening!).

Also see my sig for my go to rig the Yamaha, etc.

Right now I have 3 systems. Right now I'm using what I call the Yamaha system: Yamaha CR2020, Pioneer PL530, Pioneer HPM-100s. The other half of the time I'm using my modern system.

I've been rotating pieces. I don't have a whole lot of room to set up multiple systems. My current setup:

Sansui Eight receiver
Technics SL-1200 MK II turntable
Pioneer RT-707 RTR
Kyocera DA-610CX cd player
Dynaco A-25 speakers

All garage sale / thrift store acquisitions. Total cost $135!

Luxman C-1000 Pre, Empire 398 TT, AR91 speakers.

That's an interesting combo in the garage. I also have a 730 and a 430.

What MC 1000s do you have in the garage? The Realistic bookshelves? Or is the Abbreviation M.C. something else? I have a pair of the realistic which have OK mids, slightly accentuated highs and very little bass. I'm wondering if the HK which has a lot of Bass oooomph might pump their low end up a bit if that's what you are running?
