Nice! I like that 2010. Those low-powered amps have a sweet sound. I don't know exactly why. Perhaps it's because they don't require much to operate properly. Guitar amps are like that. The simpler the circuit, the better the sound.

It's too-bad they don't make much audio gear like this anymore. Back in the early '70's, even the lowest-powered receivers were given strict attention to detail. Today, they just hammer something together from whatever parts are lying around. I blame it on the "Big Receiver Wars" of the late '70's. Suddenly everybody was selling 400w p/c speakers with dual 15" woofers. BWAAAHHH!! That sound ain't for me. I like low-powered stuff.

Whoops, I almost forgot..

Currently running my digital setup:

Sansui 2000x receiver
Compaq Laptop (source for digital audio files)
HRT Music Streamer II dac (USB dac for use with my laptop)
Wharfedale W60E 3-way speakers (12.5" woofers, 5" mid-woofer, mylar dome-tweeter... 50w p/c)
Plus 4 hard drives filled with FLAC CD-rips, vinyl-rips, MFSL, DCC/AF, etc, you name it...

Simple, but effective.

tonight I'm giving this rig some time

Onkyo TX 6500 MKII
Sansui SR 838 tt
Nakamichi CR-7
Polk 7b

the turntable is the newest addition, giving the Technics SL 1300 a rest. I just love this thing. I got it from a guy who bought it in Japan, and it's like brand new. It came with a NIB original Sansui SV-43 cartridge and two NIB SN-43 stylus.

Basically what you're doing (converting them to digital) is pretty darn good enough to preserve those sounds. Put them on CD's? How about just putting them on floppy disk or stored on a computer? I haven't done anything like what I've mentioned but should really consider it myself.
The tape that I described in my original post came with the Teac A-4010S reel to reel. To think that I was going to toss the plastic reel with tape in the trash! But after I replaced the belts on it and got it going again I decided to hear what was on the tape and to my surprise nothing but recorded 60's music that the previous owner had recorded! WOW, I was blown away by the sounds (not the best quality since it was an old tape) but basically by the different songs. All the songs took me back to when I used to hear them on the radio back in the day (60's) and decided to keep it.
Oh and by the way, yes you are correct, that Teac A-4010S is awesome! I'm amazed at its performance.
