What's your latest audio purchase?

Nice. I see that Emotiva has a new amp based on the NCore module as well. Bridgeable for 400 watts. $799.
Yeah, there are at least a few of the larger companies using hypex modules. Sometimes combined with a DAC in a streaming amplifier. And, of course, some smaller players doing good work. I looked at Buckeye and VTV, since they were relatively cost-effective. They are legit. Sound is incredible for the package. Oh, and I rechecked my paperwork and it's 6.7 pounds... Maybe I'll get another

I've never seen a bad word about Buckeye or VTV anywhere. I like that you can get a custom input buffer as well.

This Onkyo C 7030 was a good buy, I used a coupon to get a lower price, no remote, can't take good pics at night but the date on the unit is November 2017

Everything I use for audio with the exception of speakers has been a Goodwill find. I did find a set of Advent speakers but they just did not sound right....they were stuffed with wads of batting to improve bass Im guessing.

Bought these JBL L7 for $300, they don’t have the plastic bases and are a little scratched. But all the drivers work and the grilles are in good shape. I will probably add outrigger stands and repaint the cabinets in black lacquer. I think they were a good buy.

Other than tubes and records, a pair of old RCA tube amps.

Trying to keep the same flavor of the amp while repurposing it for my likings. They will be table mounts rather than rack mounted.

I wound up purchasing at the Tampa Audio Expo, Volti Audio Lucera "Knotty Elm". These speakers pound in your chest, which going to the other rooms, I did not get this
feeling. These speakers are crafted by Hand and also use a real Crossover parts. Going to try out Teak boards as plinths with IsoAcoustics Gaia II Neo.

Picked this Fisher RS-1080 up over the Christmas holiday and finished updating it.
Bought it from a guy in the the Sierras a few towns over from where we have a family cabin.
Let's just say it had some "issues", not too many but a few.
All corrected now and it is a beast of a receiver.

Just picked up the Goodmans Maximus 1 speakers I have been looking for for years. They are very nearly perfect.

Amazing little guys. Even have their original badges.

Had to look the Goodman speakers up. Nice speakers -- love the grills and grill cloth especially!

If the "Maximus 1" model has a 4" woofer, one has to wonder what their "Minimus 1" model would look like. :):)

Haven't had a MC cartridge in years. I'm a fan of older MM's. But got a good deal on the 103r, and since I'd also recently purchased an Ifi Zen phono with several MC settings, decided to go for it. I like that it's a .7 conical. Anyway, I've got several tables but the Lenco L78/s with it's Jelco tonearm seemed like a good fit, and I must say I'm very happy with it's sound.

I bought 12 feet of Canare 4S11 speaker cable, some woven sleeving in a red/black pattern, fat and thin shrink wrap in red and black, some cable pants, and Audiocrast copper spade connectors and made some new bi-wire cables for my KEF R7 Meta speakers. Previously on other speakers, bi-wiring the speaker end sounded the same as two wires with a jumper connecting the low and high posts. With KEFs Uni-Q midrange/tweeter bi-wiring made the mids/voices more distinct/clearer... or it could just be the better quality spade connectors. I had been using some cheap Parts Express angled locking banana plugs (look like pistols?) that weren't holding tight anymore (1st pic).

I put on old set of bi wires with Nakamichi banana plugs (they are much longer than I need, so they are not in use) and the sound was nowhere near as clear in the mids/vocals as it is with the new wires... so it is the copper spade connectors making the difference, they have much better contact to the posts.
