So Many Licks, So Little Time...
Tremendous number of wonderful picks in all of the foregoing posts. I will have to revisit a bunch of that stuff.
I thought Page's solo in "Stairway To Heaven" was right up there. (BTW, Page alleges that what is on the studio version was the first of three or four takes. Supposedly, the other takes are there on tape, never heard by any but Page and a few select others. The test of time says Page nailed it the first time.) Also, Page's work on "Whole Lotta Love" from LZ I was a tight little gem of intensity and tension.
Hendrix: What can I say? The man worked a million miracles every time he touched a guitar, but... "Voodoo Chile."
SRV was plugged into a never-ending cosmic river of blues. "Riviera Paradise."
Roy Buchanan: "The Messiah"
However, for a true ___rock 'n' roll___ song with a ___superb rock 'n' roll solo___, I would like to nominate:
 Rick Derringer's solo in "Rock 'n' Roll Hoochie-Koo."
If that solo does not have you playing air guitar, then, Sire, thou dost not Rock; neither dost thou Roll.
