Who Do You Think Has/had The Strongest Voice In Rock?

There have been many stong-voiced lead men in rock. I can think of Daltrey and Plant. But my vote goes to Geoff Tate of Queensryche. His voice is unmatched in "Take Hold Of The Flame".

Who else gets a nod here?

I don't know about strength but Paul Rogers has a classic rock voice. Paul Carrack also comes to mind.

For sure no one has ever been able to scream like Morrison.

I think John Lennon in "Mother" might be a contender. His primal screams are quite intense, but I wouldn't consider him to have a strong voice compared to some listed here.

Do you think that Axl Rose and David Lee Roth have a place here? (personalities, notwithstanding)

OK, bearing in mind the OP said "strongest voice" and not necessarily the one I like the most...

1) Steve Perry
2) Roy Orbison
3) Janis Joplin

In that some of her albums border on rock (though her best ones were more country), I'll nominate kd lang. She probably has the best/strongest pipes of anyone I've ever seen.
