My homebuilt CornScalas

I built these about a year ago but am just getting around to posting. I had all the panels cut at a local mill shop and assembled them myself. The bass bin dimensions are from Bob Crites' original Type "A" design. I found the K400 horns in New Orleans...they came from a pair of Klipschorns that were ruined in Hurricane Katrina. The woofers are Crites cast frame 15inch, Crites mid drivers, Crites CT120 tweeters, and Crites Cornscala crossovers. They sound incredible...they put my Cornwalls to shame...

I assume you are referring to the EVs sitting atop the Heresys? Those are NOS SP12s I got from a local out of business Audio Store. Haven't decided what to do with them...they're just art for now...

I agree. Those EV drivers with chrome baskets and hammered bronze finishes are art forms. USA manufacturing at its zenith.

In NY we had Super storm Sandy. Wonder how many Vintage Macs, Klipschorns, Hartsfields, Paragons and other gear were lost during the
Paradise/Camp fire Fires in Cali

Thanks. I did a lot of research before I invested time and money. They are as good as everyone says they are. The extra midrange is stunning. In fact, I just bought another set of K400 horns off eBay a few days ago....gonna be building another pair soon!

Have you tried placing the system catty-corner (katty-korner?) in your room. That would put each speaker on equal footing. One in the corner and one not isn't good.
