The intent of this thread is for Speaker Box Design and Software used for this purpose.
The goal is for members to be able to do this in-home for their own projects and understanding.

I will post links here in the first post to other measurement threads as well
so people interested in these subjects can discuss the fundamentals of
the thread title.

As I said in another thread UniBox is my choice for free box design software. It will do sealed, ported, passive radiator, and simple bandpass allowing the level of internal damping to be specified. It simulates port tube resonances as an option. It provides maxSPL plots, input impedance, group delay, allows for multiple drivers, a Linkwitz Transform, and for the driver's inductance and XO to be included:

It is an Excel spreadsheet and it is stated at that site that it also works with the Open Office spread sheet - I could not get it to work. Please let me know if anyone figures it out.

I believe that it is not for commercial use and so much of my work with it was 5 or more years ago.

Is their a free one or cheep that can work with hlcd and conventional drivers in the same box?

Excellent timing for me, this thread, I'm now putting together a measurement setup. So far, I've only acquired the mic, (a Dayton), have downloaded several different softwares, and have most of the needed cables. I still need the mic pre/phantom power part, and since my sound card is a little old, I thought the M-Audio Mobile Pre to be the perfect addition.

I'll be watching this with interest!
