SA-1000 Transistor list need to VET

EDIT:30SEPT13 10:55pm FINAL LIST is in POST #10. Thank you MATTSD.

I made this up this afternoon (nothing else to do). This is all the transistors on it.

If Mark the fixer or Mattsd would be so kind as to Vet it, I'll add it to SoCal's thread. And i might be able to come up with a caps list. I pulled them from recent (less than 6 months old) threads using the transistor # and looking for a similar era unit (1971-73) AND the same type board. I used Mouser for the pricing.

I would like to get this vetted before I finish the cap list. then link it to Marty,Socal's list's thread.

Partially. I talked to my uncle Friday. He still has his although it's in the attic in the box. He wants me to go thru his also. AND it'll help Drummergrl with hers, and anyone later on with one should they decide to use it.

Hi Larry,

What would I do without hifiengine:scratch2:

quasi-complementary PA!! = old school
These are my recommendations/changes as opposed to what you determined/listed.
Will see what the rest have to say, if they have actually done one of these, they may know more/better than I.
PS:
q1 2sd234 512-KSC2073TU $0.67
mje 15028,15030,15032[hfe =70 (Min) @ IC = 0.5A]

PA: (only one channel shown)
Q1,3=a992(matched for hfe or vbe)
q5=c1845
Q7,Q11=c3503 or c2690(A)(Y) (i'd try both in simulation and on the bench with a distortion analyzer, c3503 might be too fast = oscillations, need to check with a scope.
Q13=a1381 or a1220(a)(y)
Q11-Q12...........2SC484 -> KSC2073TU(2) + heatsink (2) $.67ea plus heatsink
Q11 = mje 15028,15030,15032[hfe =70 (Min) @ IC = 0.5A]

if you have not noticed, fairchild does not offer similar hfe ranking on the a1381/c3502 anymore = impossible to match

ecaps?

Rick; I did the E-caps finally y'day on a separate thread. When everything is finalized, and vetted I'll combine them and ask for a lock on the original threads.

Larry, great news! An AKer local to me, baco99, is going to recap (and whatever else) my SA1000! He says he needs a schematic. Anyone have one?
When will markthefixer approve the list? I'm eager to get started. Thanks.

Fixed. I've got Ulnar neuropathy in my left hand, and haven't gotten used to using only 1/2 of my hand when typing.

Hi Larry,
mattsd did a better job than I, sorry about stating c3503 is faster than c2690, well they are about the same ft 150MHz vs 155. I should learn to read before I write.
Q11-Q12...........2SC484 -> KSC2073TU(2) + heatsink (2) $.67ea plus heatsink
MATTSD COMMENT:"Yes, that will work fine, do not use On-Semi transistors for drivers, their VBE(on) voltage is too low, causing the bias to be non-existent or too high depending on the circuit design"
This makes sense.
Would state lists to be prelim. until one has actually used these parts, measured/tested to be certain.

rcs16. no problem. this is my 1st list I've put together. So I knew going in there were going to be some problems or mismatches.

If/when my Uncle ships his to me, I'll keep the Q11-12 in mind when testing, although I don't have much more than a DMM and a single channel 10mHz scope. So it's going to be limited at that. I should be able to pick up the oscillations(if any) on the scope using a signal from the laptop audio generator, correct?

Larry

Oscillation should not be a problem, c15, c16 ( 27pf), c17, c18 (330pf) should see to that.

Physical details: Q9, Q10 2sc984 are part of a circuit called a "Vbe multiplier" and they have the same essential function at a thermal bias diode.
It remains to be seen how the thermal coupling to the heat sink is implemented, (and which components are left behind on the board ) so a to-92L transistor may not be the best choice, and a to-126(512-ksc3505xxx) or a to-92(512-KSD1616xxx) or may be a better choice - purely due to mechanical mounting considerations.

I have used BOTH in similar situations, and in the case of the d1616, if you have c1845's they too will sub well (but while I haven't actually used one in a circuit like that, there should be NO electronic problems)

at that time, pictures are encouraged, and swearing may be experienced.

Consider this my okay-dokey on the list.

Thanks Mark. I'll get pic's up if/when Uncle Dick sends the 1000 out.
