I've been trying for a few months now to get another Sansui 9090 (wait for it, a Pioneer connection is coming real soon) to replace the one that died on me.
Well, all that I have had the opportunity to purchase is Pioneer receivers. The most recent one being the SX-5580 pictured below. I also own its American brother the SX-1050 that is pulling the main duty until the right 9090 comes around. Since owning the 1050 I have come to really respect the Pioneer vintage line of receivers. They are well made, beautiful looks and the sound is just superb. But I just love the sound of the Sui's better, we all have our favorites. Just thought I would share a few pics of it since I really haven't seen that many around in my short search about them.

It took me another hour or so to sand all the paint off. Since I really suck @ veneering I went with a laminate vinyl (Black Ash) to finish the case up. Which took another hour or so. The wood (MDF?) underneath is in great shape, maybe the next owner can take it back to its natural state.
