Its a live action cartoon about dolls, what controversy?I wonder how many here would even think about seeing this quasi cartoon if it wasn't on the media's endless list of "controversial" subjects? Smellywood doesn't even try to make GOOD movies anymore. They can now sell just as much by making cheap and bad movies that have controversial undertones.
So, have you seen it? If so, please tell us WHY?Its a live action cartoon about dolls
No, I'm not the target demographic, they made it for others. It has no points of personal interest of which I am aware. So, have you seen it? If so, please tell us WHY?
TB might go see it when hell freezes over.^^ PS: A review of the caliber that @Tom Brennan posted re: Oppenheimer would do the trick.
every guy in the movie seems like they had a lobotomy. They are either stupid, an asshole, or both. None of them including Ken have any real redeeming qualities.
I hope she wasn't criticizing the movie in front of all the six year old girls. And certainly not with language like that.My niece, 12 or 13, watched it and told me every guy in the movie seems like they had a lobotomy. They are either stupid, an asshole, or both. I haven't seen it. Sounds like a very smart girl. Looking at promo photos I'd say Barbie is cast as an airhead and Ken as an airhead in transition. That's just my impression of course. I think Hjames is right, it's about getting people to talk about it, steering it along. I'll look for a DVD in the thrift store when time comes.
I saw a Barbie movie when my daughter was six. Decent animation. But I don't remember "talking about it". Barbie was a princess in some utopia IIRC. That was a "dad" thing I did. Now Sponge Bob is a whole different story - that was pure genius.I haven't seen it. Sounds like a very smart girl. Not sure why it would matter where she was. And I'm not there to police someone's language.
She seems to be. Hopefully she keeps it up. She's hitting that I hate everyone phase and finding her own thing. Which for some reason means she talks to me a lot more and wants to hang out. Her taste in music is great too. She's even introduced me to groups like Wet Leg.
Yeah. You're there to be her friend. You should go to the movie with her and you can both swear and bond. You might get shushed by one of the six year old's moms. Not sure why it would matter where she was. And I'm not there to police someone's language.
Spongebob is absolutely one of the most unexpected, genius and fun things that came out of getting children. I sat down and watched it with the kids and I'm sure I found it at least as fun as they did.I saw a Barbie movie when my daughter was six. Decent animation. But I don't remember "talking about it".
