After buying some LP's from a shop that uses a VPI machine on everything, I'm giving up on hand washing records. The stuff I got from the shop was amazing! I cannot afford a VPI so a Spin Clean will have to suffice. Where's the best place to get one?

On Amazon, it's the same price and eligible for free super saver free. Also if you buy from soundstage direct during one of their sales, it's 11% off ;-)

The Spin Clean is a step in the right direction of getting your LPs clean if your on a limited budget. If you continue to purchase LPs from the shop that cleans all their LPs with a VPI RCM about all you will need is a carbon fiber brush to dust off the LPs just prior to putting down the stylus. I'll admit new RCMs from Nitty Gritty, VPI, Record Doctor etc arn't cheap, $300+. But if you go preowned/used the price is a lot less, an example was a Nitty Gritty 1.5 with fluid, brushes etc for $125 on Agon yesterday. Also sold was a VPI 16.5 for around $300. They don't last long and you have to make your move quickly, many being sold within minutes of being listed. The KAB RCM isn't all that exspensive either. If your handy a DIY RCM can be put togeather for very little money useing an old TT and vacume. So don't completely rule out a RCM as being prohibitivly exspensive.

I'd buy right from the source http://www.spincleanrecordwasher.com/

It's pretty awesome that I live within reasonable driving distance of a stereo/HT shop that sells the SC  It's owned by the brother of the originator of Spin Clean. I had the pleasure of knowing the man.....he operated what was without a doubt the largest record store in the Pittsburgh area.

I remember the SC being for sale at the record shop many, many years ago.

I just got one from, believe out or not, Urban Outfitters for $65. Cheaper than anywhere else. I ordered it through the store so I got free shipping.
