im at that point now having replaced a reciever i bought without a remote. i figured not a problem right. WRONG
2 weeks later im still right where i was in the beginning of a remote search!!
i cant find anywhere online what universal remote will work with my new reciever, the remote for the marantz sr7000 has been discontunied and no longer made or stocked

*as been stated many times, yet no one sees this-
yes harmony remotes will work, just not 100% full functions are guarnteed.(some features wont work)
stated several times as well, i have a "local" aker i personally know, who just helped me get a remote.(oem) my long time buddy and friend thank you!!!!

ya its 18 yrs old, an so far runs perfect with zero issues runs cold as hell. an looks/sounds as brand new out of showroom.
people buy vintage audio (tubes+s.s.) in good shape an worse shape, an honestly its no different then with this modern gear.
we buy what we can afford at the time.

I have an old Harmony 600 and it runs my new Outlaw RR2600. I'd look for a Harmony on CL and check if it will run you receiver.

i dont know which universal remote will work with this, thats my point im not going to go out an buy 20+ remotes and have none of them work.

Did you try eBAY?
There's a pretty brisk market in orphan remote controls there, it seems to me.
E.g., I bought one for the dump-find Denon DVD player that I use as a CD transport.
Always worth a look, I would think.
