Let’s see those table lamps - vintage or modern

My latest MCM lamp. Have a huge weakness for this era of lighting. Bargain Craigslist acquisition. Had wall paint splatters all over it, but cleaned up like day 1 new. Hard to capture in the picture, but a great example of 1960’s California drip glaze pottery.

It just came to me.
Those are really unique lamps. I wouldn't guess that the pine would filter out all but red light.

I haven't seen the guy that made them for a few years. Last I talked to him he was trying to figure out ways to get his production time down. The lamps are very labor intensive to make. He slices the wood into strips and then cuts to length. The strips are edge glued in forms and then assembled with the 5x5mm corner posts in another form. He does very clean work.

Some people look at one of those lamps and say that €250 is very expensive. I look at them and say that he is loosing money on the labor.

They add a nice warm ambient light to the room with a bit of warm white reflected off the ceiling. I have a Phillips Hue bulb in it so the color and brightness can be adjusted. Perfect for the daily music listening time.

Cheers,
James

1950's table lamp set atop for this photo on our Heywood Wakefield Dining/Gaming Table & Chairs Set.

Lamp was purchased in the 50's and table set circa 1965 by my parents. The cart in the background was also theirs's.

Now that our MCM ranch remodel is nearly complete I have more MCM furniture to display. Some require refinishing.

I thank them they were not into "Early American" style...
