New McIntosh 2375

I’m seeing an outpouring of love for the MC75s that I haven’t seen in a while where the MC275 has long stolen the spotlight from them. Is it the current move to mono amps in high-end? The lower weight compared to the two-channel 275? Simply the dedicated power supply? The aesthetic? What do you like better that would motivate McIntosh to consider a re-issue?
For me it is the SQ. My reissue MC75s were clearly superior to either my single and especially to my pair of MC275s running as monoblocks (a single MC275 sounds better to my ears in my system). The fact the MC75 is much lighter is a real bonus. But, it is the SQ that matters most.

Why did you sell it?
I didn't sell it by choice. I was restoring an old house and needed extra money so I sold my entire stereo system to help with the funds. By the time I once again had enough extra funds to replace my McIntosh system, the MA2275 was not longer in production. I looked for a used one, but the MA2275 eluded me and I could not find one. I gave up and ended up going a different route. I have more recently seen some used examples come up, but they were not in a condition that was acceptable to me. Now, the MA2275 is starting to get old so getting a used one in mint condition is nearly impossible without paying a super high premium. This is why I was hoping they would replace it, which now they have, but like I said, the new MC275 chassis inspired designs for integrated amps in my opinion, is super ugly. To each their own.

Probably because it didn’t sounds as good as most expected it seems. (I’ve never heard one, but have seen several comments about the MA2275 not living up to the hype.)

That said, $15,000 for a MA2375 or $15,000 for a C22 and MC275, I’m choosing the latter.
That wasn't my experience at all with the MA2275, I loved the sound of it. See my comment above as to why I had to sell it, it wasn't by choice. I also didn't at the time have room for separates like I do now so the MA2275 was a better choice for me than a C22 and an MC275.

Years later and also after many changes to my McIntosh system since replacing my previous McIntosh system, I eventually did get the C22IV and MC275VI combo. I did this based upon other people's recommendations and I can't say that I preferred the sound of that over that which I remember of the MA2275, but that is based entirely upon memory as I just remember being happy with the MA2275. But now I no longer have an MC275IV because I had complete failure on two different examples, so I gave up on that model and went the solid-state route by acquiring an MC462 and am happy with it. I did keep the C22IV as I like it and prefer it to the newer McIntosh preamps, it's simple and elegant.

It looks very similar to the MA252 that I've had for 8 years. I paid $3500 for it new, and now they're going for $5000.

I'm wondering if the 2375 will appreciate by the same percentage over time that my 252 has.

You never know. The MA252 is an excellent integrated amp that's for sure. I had one in my home office and loved it. It weighs 28lbs. The 2375 95 pounds. My 601 mono blocks 93 lbs.

Heard it’ll be $15K. Guess that’s cheaper than my MC275 / C22 combo. But it’s not working at all aesthetically for me. Probably will sell well, but it’s a failure visually. Looks like the unit is not completely convinced which is its front and which is its back. (Reminds me of a Pushmi-Pullyu.)

Then there’s the oddball sides: “McIntosh 2375”—the “front” of my 275—which is even more confusing.

I guess the key is how it sounds. Maybe it rivals the MC275 MKVI / C22MKV combo. But I doubt it. Hopefully, however, it’s not the disappointment that the MC2102 was.
