Yesterday a quick Goodwill stop yielded a Sansui computerized turntable, the FR-D55. For $10, the apparently intact AT 82E cartridge was worth the price of admission. I got it home, looked it up, and downloaded a service manual from vinylengine- which goes into great detail into with the computer system. Pretty much all Greek to me.
The table powers up, the green computer light blinks for several moments, then goes off. The platter doesn't spin or the tone arm move when you push start or any of the numbered buttons.
I wouldn't want to try to replace computers but was wondering if such a type of turntable could have that bypassed, and end up as entry-level semi-auto turntable . Or if its good for parts. Thanks for any opinions, and knowledge.
