I picked up a Pioneer PS-112D the other day for super cheap, and after a few hours i'm just about done with the clean up! I haven't the faintest idea about what to do with this turntable (currently I have a td160 and i'm restoring a ar-xa), but I really enjoyed bringing this one back from the dead!

aside from a really detailed external cleaning, i also..
-Cleaned/lubricated the spindle bearing
-purchased a new belt, aftermarket head-shell, and will be installing a Audio-Technica AT90E with new pfanstiehl ATS11E stylus.
-disassembled motor and added a light oil.
-polished the motor-pulley and tonearm.
-cleaning and polished the inner and outer platter lips
-cleaned up the dust cover with novus #2

At some point I also have to break out the soup cans and make sure the platter is level!

Ok so myself just having bought this exact same TT, I have to ask..

Soup Cans? Is this something I need to be testing? lol

I had one of these several years ago..as well as a pl12d...the arms on either table seem to mate well with the at-95e or at-110e and is good enough for a cartridge upgrade or two. To my ears , it was a really decent sounding combination that you'd really need something like a rega planar 2 to improve upon...and even then the semi suspended isolation, easy speed switching and generally robust build quality doesn't give too much away in performance when fitted with a good budget cartridge.
These pioneers are solid and dependable record players once in a good state of tune and seem to last forever. :thmbsp:
