The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Good morning. It’s 48°F going to 69 with high winds predicted. I have a list of things to keep me busy today: d the wekly update to my old time radio web site; bake a batch of cookies to send to my son for is upcoming birthday; practice the guitar; do a bit of cleaning at the other house. I’m also dropping by our local record store. On FB they showed a video flipping through a stack of albums and I saw two that I want, both SQ Quads.

Good morning all! Currently 65°F outside, predicted to go into the low 70's this afternoon with the possibility of rain.

Slow morning, but this evening we're going to meet our daughter and the younger grandson for dinner. Haven't seen them in a while, the family had been sick.

Take care and have a great day!

Mornin’ Friends,
It’s been really windy here, but today we’re up to 88 and gusts are down to 12 mph. The devil wind delivered a truckload of ragweed pollen yesterday which laid me out for a while. Rudolf has nothing on my nose. Today we’re going to church and life group this afternoon. Have a great 1st day of daylight savings,
John

Good morning from windy Wyoming, where there is wind if the forecast for the entire projected forecast! The cats are so sick of it they went out and came right back in, all three of them. The only possible benefit of this is hopefully it will blow some of the undesirables back to where they came from, and good riddance to the vermin!

Average price of gas here in Casper, is $2.82 gal regular. That up from $2.44 a month ago. Gas hear is always cheapest in the winter and higher in the summer. I can appreciate their pricing strategy, keeping tanks full in the winter has been imperative to survival in the past when we had real winters. The storm coming in from this wind will mostly likely be here such a short period of time we will get little moisture from it.

We have enjoyed low crime here, and for a long time we were the lowest rate of crime for a city of this size. People wishing to escape state tax have been coming here for a few years now. Unfortunately, they type that prey on these good people have followed them to Wyoming. We have traditionally had good a police force and Sherriff department , many of these fine men and women were customers of mine for many years. May they stay safe from harm and not soured by the increase in undesirables in our fine city.

Hope you all have the wonderful day today and spring flowers are popping up all over. john

Good morning, y'all! We have 75 and sunshine all day here. I got new wood handles for the wheelbarrow to put on today as the old ones were pretty much rotted out. I'm also setting up a vintage stereo in the living room so Sweetie Pie can play records. I'll go walking ths afternoon. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Oops! Somehow I didn't click "post."
So here is a far too late good morning!

Good morning! Clear and mid 50s F for the walk, going to mid 80s. Deciduous trees have been leafing out for some time now.

Today: Going to the two farthest Tucson Garden Railway Society tour sites. Farthest one is The Oracle Community Learning Garden’s Kid’s Railroad, 55 miles from home. Temps will be a pleasant mid 70s up there.

Have a great day!

Good morning dear friends!

35° F, mostly sunny all day, high 55. Serious fog last night!

Forgot to mention earlier, this morning I saw a spider spinning a web. Unfortunately, it was right in my path, so I had to knock it down. This will undoubtedly repeat until the spider realizes that this location just won't work.

Possible breakfast with friends in about an hour.

Otherwise, not really awake right now.

God bless you all!

Good morning. It’s 29°F going to 40 with some rain or snow later. Winter is finally arriving with the rest of the week looking at lower temperatures and snow.

Today I have planned out, sort of. I’m running to the gym for weights and a swim. After breakfast I’ll pick up a few grocery items. Next Saturday is Pi day and I plan to bring a chocolate cream pie to my usual Saturday meet up and since I haven’t made one in years, I’ll do a test run first.

Also on today’s list is to do some hifi stuff. I’ve been having my Sansui QRX-7500 restored by a local guy. He’s good but after the first round it needed to go back because the phono section didn’t work. That got fixed and now it won’t go into 4-channel. I think it’s a switch issue. He’s swamped but will take it back in a couple weeks. In the meantime, I’ve been using it in all its 2-channel functions and it sounds great. I want to play some SQ Quad vinyl and today I’ll us my Onkyo receiver to handle the rear channels. I have an outboard Sony SQ decoder (better than the one built into the Sansui) and see if I can get them all to play together nicely. I stopped by our local record store when I saw online that they had a few SQ albums.

Another fine day to be alive in ever windy Wyoming! The common explanation of why the wind is forever tormenting us is because Nebraska sucks. I've driven across that state a number of times, if you want to be board to death, take a drive through it. It's up a slow rising hill and back down the other side over and over and over again. I doubt I will ever take that drive again. I'm sure it's a fine place to live, though I heard they have a lot of crime in Omaha, whether that is true or not I have no interest to find out.

Took the back off my Sansui quad reel to reel deck day before yesterday. Before I try to seek out the area of possible electronic woes, I will first exercise every connection and use some contact enhancer to insure I have a good connection throughout the machine, these connecters have never been cleaned by me , and doubtfully by anyone else, so my problem may be solved doing this simple maintenance.

To my caregivers office I must go today to have my blood pressure checked again. I will spike the punch and avoid taking any other medication but my blood pressure medication so no chance of interaction can take place. I usually get pretty worked up on the drive to the office, many of our new residence are the work at home type, as the city went from quiet during normal working hours to people all over the place racing to their destination. No longer a quiet town, I miss my Casper of the past.

As normal , I'll close wit best wishes for all, may you have a day to remember in a positive way. All my love to you and yours. john

Good Morning Folks. It is 45f on the deck. Saturday evening came down with a fever and Sunday morning it was still present. Alice went into mommy mood and I was not allowed out of bed until late yesterday afternoon when the fever drop. No fever this morning and I'm feeling close to normal and once the coffee is brewed I will be ready to get busy. Easy day with only a shopping trip into Siioux Falls

Good morning all! Good dinner last night, the little guy was very happy to see us! He gave me a hug and wouldn't let go, I loved it. I could tell he still wasn't 100% after being sick most of last week. He claimed that he was fine, but he just wasn't quite himself. That's okay, he'll bounce back.

The elder grandson and our SIL were at a BMX track. Our SIL posted a couple of videos of JT racing, and killing it! He won both moto's and was multiple bike lengths ahead of second place in the finals. We're very proud of him.

Called Social Security earlier to get a replacement 1099 for my wife. Somehow hers never showed up and I can't finish our taxes. The call was much less painful than I thought it would be. Should be here within a week or so.

Today the termite company is sending someone out to do a yearly inspection. It's only $135/year for peace of mind.

Take care and have a great day!

Good morning! Sunny with hazy air and upper 50s F for the walk, going to 70s again. Mountains look hazy. Roller coaster temps expected the next few days, 70s today, upper 60s tomorrow, upper 70s Wed, then around 90 the rest of the week.

Got to the planned three garden RRs yesterday. Started out with a Tesla behaving badly, though. I pulled out of our side street when he was 2 blocks away and was up to 32 in the 30 zone when the following happened. I'm no slouch when it comes to getting up to speed in the Mustang. He zoomed up behind me, honked, and passed over the double yellow, then rolled through a stop sign and turned right with no signal. I'd estimate he was doing well over 40. 35 in the 30 zone is common, but not 45.

Anyway, it was a nice day for a drive up to Oracle. I didn't know how built up things are up that way, until you are within ten miles of Oracle, where there is still a lot of open desert. Interesting to get the north side perspective of the Santa Catalinas. I took LOTS of pics. Decided to do three of many where a train was rolling through a model town or around a curve. Now I have the task of selecting the 25% or fewer best.

Had a bathroom pop-up drain plug (21 years old) break; apparently the lever just corroded through inside the pipe. I'll be getting all four identical ones replaced. I just walked down the street and saw the local plumber hadn't left home yet, so said "Good morning Sonny, I need some work done."

Have a great day!

Good morning, y'all! We have 76 and sunshine here today. We're taking the grand to school then going on a food run to get Cioppino makings. Later I'll get to work rebuilding the wheelbarrow, as the new handles showed up from Amazon. No other plans today. I'd really like to go walking if I have time. Have an awesome day, everyone!

That's infuriating! The irresponsiblty of driving that way to begin with. On top of that, a lot of people who do so live in the neighborhood or speed in their own neighborhood. All I can think of is what if such a moron hit and killed one's own child? What if the person hits someone else's child and it's the driver's kid's friend? Imagine living with that! When presented with the possibility, people like that usually have a complacent response. Well, I guess I should turn back to more positive thoughts now.
